TRIO Educational Talent Search (Hammond)

Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a federally funded TRIO Program committed to enhancing and ensuring the academic and personal success of local eligible middle and high school students.

ETS advocates for the successful completion of high school and advancement to college and/or training after high school. The aim of ETS is to provide opportunities for students to reach their maximum potential.

Our Services

  • FREE for eligible families
  • Academic, financial, career and personal counseling
  • Advice about entry or re-entry to secondary or post-secondary programs
  • Career exploration and aptitude assessment
  • Connections to tutoring support
  • Information on post-secondary education
  • Exposure to college campuses
  • Information on student financial assistance
  • Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications
  • Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
  • Special activities for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders
  • Workshops for the families of participants

Federally Funded by the U.S. Department of Education

For fiscal year 2023-2024, $428,666 of Federal dollars are being used to fund the Educational Talent Search Program at Purdue University Northwest. The program is 100% funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
