Stephen Turner is the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at Purdue University Northwest. He serves as chief financial and administrative officer for both campus locations. PNW educates 15,500 students, employs 1561 faculty and staff, is supported by budgets totaling $177 million. The campuses include 441 acres with physical assets valued at $695 million.
Vice Chancellor Turner is responsible for budget planning, fiscal analysis, debt management, cash management, business support services, human resources, strategic planning, capital projects, facilities planning and operations, procurement, public safety, regulatory compliance, property acquisitions, asset management and serves as the university’s liaison with the Purdue Research Foundation.
Vice Chancellor Turner has been with Purdue University since 1998
Turner earned an associate degree in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue Northwest, a baccalaureate degree in psychology from IU Northwest, a master’s degree in education leadership from Western Michigan University and an MBA from Purdue University – Krannert School of Management.
Turner currently serves on the South Coast Conservancy District Board of Directors as President, Board of Trustees for La Porte Hospital, Board of Directors for La Porte County United Way, and the Board of Directors for the Challenger Learning Center.
Previous community service includes School Board Trustee – School City of Hobart, Board of Directors – Porter County Salvation Army as President, Board of Directors – La Porte County Family YMCA, Board of Directors – Access La Porte County – (Municipal and County Public Television), and Economic and Community Development Advisory Board – La Porte County Extension.
Turner is a member of the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, Portage Chamber of Commerce, Duneland Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of College and University Business Officials, and the Society for College and University Planning.
