DESCRIPTION:Experience the magic of summer nights at the Arboretum with hundreds of fireflies flashing through the sky! \nBring your family and friends along to marvel at the wonder of these glowing winged beetles (also known as lightning bugs). Gabis Arboretum will remain open until 10:00 p.m. \nVisitors can walk the prairie to watch the fireflies or stargaze. Gabis Arboretum has very little light pollution at night so it’s a great place to enjoy nighttime wildlife. Bring a flashlight if needed. We will have all the lights turned off to reduce light pollution. \nIf you need to contact a staff member while on the property at night\, please call (219) 989-8492.
