Following news today that the CDC has paused use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, we are pleased to announce that Purdue Northwest has partnered with the La Porte County Health Department and HealthLinc to ensure no disruption to plans for our vaccination clinic at the Westville Campus.

The Westville Campus clinic will now offer the Moderna vaccine. This vaccine will require two doses. The vaccination clinic will be open at the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Center (DSAC):

  • April 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (first dose, Moderna)
  • April 22, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (first dose, Moderna)
  • May 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (second dose, Moderna for all participants in the first two clinic dates at this site)

The site is open to all PNW students, faculty and staff as well as the public.

To register for a vaccine appointment at the Westville Campus, call 1-888-580-1060, ext. 3401.

If you have previously registered for an appointment at the Westville site, and are interested in getting the Moderna vaccine, then no action is needed. Your appointment is secure and we look forward to your arrival at the time of your appointment.

If you have previously registered for an appointment in Westville but would prefer to receive the Pfizer vaccine, you are welcome to cancel your Westville appointment and register for a vaccine at the Hammond Campus. You should have received an email with a unique link to schedule an appointment, or you can contact safereturn@pnw.edu for assistance.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is pausing distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration recommended a pause. ISDH asked all state health clinics to stop using the single-dose vaccine.
