What path brought you here?
I happened to stumble across the Career Center as a student after one of their peer advisors helped me create a resume (5 pages!!) and I went to double-check that the length was okay. After a few minutes of talking about food & music, I learned that there was a student employment opportunity in the department, which I applied for an received. From there I moved into other roles, such as the department secretary, a career advisor, a career consultant, and now a career counselor. I have been on board full-time since January of 2013.
Where are you most likely to be found when you’re not working?
I’m either at the pool, tending to my garden, playing with my dogs, or sitting on the couch watching something on Netflix.
Or… I might be in the Caribbean enjoying the sun and the sand.
What is your all-time favorite food?
I am a die-hard fan of pizza. I could eat it every day if I wouldn’t gain weight from it. Chicago style all the way! Side note: I’m not a fan of the types of pizzas where lettuce sits on top. In fact, they aren’t allowed in my presence.
What Do You Like Most About Working At The Career Center?
I like the cohesiveness that makes the team in the office. We are all our own characters and we bring a lot of our own experiences to the table, which helps us all bounce ideas off one another. I also greatly enjoy the look of satisfaction students get on their faces when they’ve reached their own personal success.

Advice for Students:
Be accountable for your own future. Take action for yourself. The future depends on what you do today.
What is the most interesting job you ever had?
My first job ever was at Little Caesar’s before the Hot N Ready pizzas came out. I lived in a small community at the time and was requested by my boss to go across the street and put advertisement fliers on the cars in the strip mall parking lot. Years later, after I’d quit that job, the ‘marketing’ job they wanted me to do turned into the sign flipper you see standing outside.
