DESCRIPTION:The Asthma Care for Adults Program has been developed by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). This program has been designed to help adults and their caregivers learn how to manage asthma. It covers asthma basics\, recognizing symptoms and triggers\, asthma action plans\, and an overview of different types of asthma medications. \nThe seven one-hour lessons include: \n\nAsthma Basics\nAsthma Triggers\nControlling Asthma Triggers\nAsthma Medicines and Equipment\nAsthma Action Plan\nCommunicating with the Asthma Team\nAsthma Management Goals\n\nEligibility \nAll benefits-eligible employees and covered dependents with the target population being those: \n\nNewly diagnosed with asthma.\nPreviously diagnosed but interested in better understanding the disease process.\nWith a family member/dependent who has been diagnosed.\nInterested in better understanding asthma management.\n\nProgram Dates \n\nMarch 18 – April 10\, 2025\n\nTuesday and Thursday (weeks 1 and 2)\, 11 a.m. to noon CT\nThursdays (weeks 3 through 5)\, 11 a.m. to noon CT\n\n\n\nRegistration \nRegister via the Healthy Boiler portal.  The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s home page. DESCRIPTION:HealthKick is a 6-week virtual education program that addresses physical activity\, nutrition\, creating healthy habits and decreasing stress. \nBrief education (about 5-minute video) is delivered to participants via text message or email (depending on preference) Monday through Friday for six weeks. Do you want to better understand type 2 diabetes and how it affects your body? \nThis 14-week program will explain what type 2 diabetes is and the role nutrition\, exercise\, sleep\, medication and stress management can have on your blood glucose levels.
