The Lion Cubs Child Care operates during the Fall and Spring semesters on the Westville campus, to provide high-quality child care service for the children of students, faculty, and staff members at Purdue Northwest. A professional director and staff provide a program combining planned activities and supervised play.
Children starting at age 3 (or turning 3 by December 1st and provided they are toilet trained) are eligible to enroll. School aged children (kindergarten – 5th) are welcome for after school care and for their school breaks, cancellations, and evenings. Prior to using this service, a parent must complete all enrollment forms and obtain a receipt of prepayment from the Bursar.
Hours and Location
- Monday-Thursday, 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
- Open during Finals Week
- Closed on Fridays and weekends. Closed during the summer and when classes are not in session.

The center charges an hourly fee for child care, payable in advance at the Bursar’s Office:
- Student Rate: $2.25/hour for the first child
- ($1.50/hour for each additional child in a family)
- Faculty/Staff Rate: $2.50/hour for the first child
- ($2.00/hour for each additional child in a family)
*Refunds require Director approval.
Themed exploration centers are available daily for children to enjoy including dramatic play, science and discovery, blocks, literacy, art, life skills and more! Items available in the centers are always changing to suit the interests of the children. Examples of other daily activities may include:

Children also have the opportunity to participate in special activities throughout the school year including cooking, special community visitors, trick-or-treating, seasonal parties, and more!
