Advanced GenCyber Summer Camp – Go VIRTUAL

The Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics at Purdue University Northwest is offering a one-week free VIRTUAL Advanced GenCyber Summer Camp for high school students in July 2021. Advanced GenCyber Summer Camp will immerse you in learner-centered, hands-on activities, including cybersecurity awareness education and security practices in software, systems, networks, applications, cryptography and wireless.

Let’s have fun with this five-day summer camp and learn cybersecurity’s six (6) concepts, cybersecurity awareness and discover if higher education and a career in cybersecurity is right for you.

During the summer camp, high school students will be asked to participate in two voluntarily surveys. However, the decision to participate in those surveys will not impact the students’ eligibility to attend the summer camp.

  • Day 1: Cybersecurity awareness training and software and system security
  • Day 2: Network principles and security concepts and practices
  • Day 3: Computer and network application security concepts and practices
  • Day 4: Cryptography concepts and practices
  • Day 5: Wireless vulnerabilities and security concepts and practices

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of this camp. Free GenCyber T-Shirt, Raspberry Pi and USB drive will be provided. Requirements: Computer, Monitor or TV with HDMI port, Internet connection. Eligibility: High school students with coding experience.
