History Matters Event (Canceled)

March 26 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

This event has been canceled due to PNW’s COVID-19 precautionary planning.

“How the Recent Supreme Court has undermined the US Constitution, Democracy, and Women’s Rights.”

This presentation by Dr. Saul Lerner will describe how the recent politically conservative members of the Supreme Court, arguing in behalf of a fraudulent claim of “originalism” has worked to alter the basic structure of the US Constitution and the freedoms of Americans, such as separation of church and state, women’s and LGBT rights, and civil rights. This has been enhanced by the Court defining corporations as “persons” under the law and permitting the intrusion of huge corporate political contributions to lobby, to elect Congressmen, to limit minority participation in elections, and, overall, to produce policies that reject public needs, enhance corporate profit and generate poverty, inequality, and insecurity in America.

Event is free and open to the public.
