This is not your typical ethics workshop! Challenging ethical situations sometimes feel overwhelming for mental health professionals. Because these more difficult situations are also emotionally fatiguing, this aspect will also be explored.

This workshop will address tough ethical dilemmas and provide an opportunity to discuss ethical dilemmas with which attendees have struggled. It will also provide a process for working with those challenging and murky ethical decisions.

Participants will earn two (2) hours of NBCC approved Continuing Education for participating in this workshop.

Registration Fee

$50 for individual participants.

Learning Objectives

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply ethical standards in the context of sophisticated situations as related to particularly difficult cases
  2. Describe the decision-making process for complex cases
  3. Identify the psychological ramifications of ethical decision-making for the professional

Program Leaders

Mary DidelotMary J. Didelot is an associate professor with an expertise in addictions counseling and in anxiety disorders, particularly PTSD. In addition to being a licensed psychotherapist, she is also a licensed clinical addictions therapist. She has served the NW IN clinical mental health community since 1991.

She has taught at PNW since 1981. Didelot also holds board certifications in hypnosis, PTSD, anxiety disorders, psychotherapy and online delivery of therapy. She is published nationally and internationally in the areas of addictions and Jungian theory.

 

Lisa HollingsworthLisa Hollingsworth is an associate professor at PNW. She is also a licensed mental health counselor in private practice specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Hollingsworth has taught numerous counseling classes at PNW since 1998 and serves as the program coordinator for the Counseling and Professional Education Programs. She is published and has provided presentations nationally and internationally in the areas of logotherapy, addictions and health psychology.
