Trail of Scarecrows Display Dates
October 1 - October 30
Back by popular demand! This annual competition is for groups in kindergarten through 5th grade.
How It Works
Children choose a book based on the year’s theme. As a class/group/family, they build a scarecrow and write an essay based on the chosen story or its characters. Scarecrows are then displayed outdoors at the arboretum throughout the month of October. Guests will vote on their favorite scarecrow via social media and the top three winners will receive a prize.
Scarecrows will be displayed from Friday, October 1 through Saturday, October 30. Virtual Award Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 30. Details about this ceremony will be emailed to the email listed on the registration form in October.
