DESCRIPTION:Help us with restoring our native habitat\, weeding in the garden or mulching the trails! \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather. We will provide water and snacks. \nAPPLY TO VOLUNTEER \nVolunteer Information\n\nNew Volunteers must APPLY TO VOLUNTEER at least 5 days before the event.\nCurrent Volunteers\, please let us know you’re coming so that we can contact you in case of cancellation.\n\nThe arboretum is only able to accept volunteers over the age of 13. \n\nParental consent forms are required for all minors under the age of 18. Please inquire with the office on policies regarding minors at gabisarboretum@pnw.edu.\n\nFor questions\, please email gabisarboretum@pnw.edu. \nVolunteer work days will occur every second Saturday.

DESCRIPTION:Gabis Arboretum is excited to host a presentation about the knowledge that can be gained from repeated visits to nature preserves. \nOur guest speaker\, Professor Spencer Cortwright from Indiana University Northwest\, teaches ecology\, zoology\, restoration ecology as well as other courses \nThis presentation notes many reasons to revisit nature preserves (exercise\, spiritual uplift\, camaraderie\, restoration work\, etc.) and emphasizes one in particular: detecting ecological processes at work. We will virtually walk through select preserves and identify important ecological insights that can be learned from repeat visits! \nThe class will meet at the Depot. \nRegister to Attend \nProgram participation is free. Arboretum admission fees apply for non-members.
