Artists Who Love Nature featuring the work of Andy Goldsworthy
October 5, 2019 –
Andy Goldsworthy is considered the premier artist in the medium of ephemeral art: taking items found in nature, creating works of art in nature, photographing them to mark “the moment when the work is most alive,” and then allowing them to grow, stay or decay as nature dictates.
In this class, attendees will begin by watching a documentary on Goldsworthy and his unique style of nature-themed artwork. Then, under the guidance of retired art teacher, Marcia Carson, they will go out into nature and produce ephemeral art themselves. Attendees might want to bring along a smartphone or camera to record images of the artwork they produce during the session. Location: Depot building
Cost: $10 members/$15 non-members
