The Department of Housing and Residential Education staff and its student leaders coordinate various residential education opportunities, social events and community service efforts every year for The University Village community. A number of these activities are co-sponsored with various departments and organizations on campus.

Welcome Weekend Activities (August)
A number of events and social activities are held for residents to interact with one another. There are plenty of games and activities to keep residents busy throughout the weekend. This occurs every year during the weekend of move-in day of the Fall semester.
Residential Education Opportunities
The Residential Education Staff designs and implements programs that give residents the opportunity to expand their intellectual, professional and personal growth developed with the idea of fitness, academic success, career planning, living on your own, and more in mind.
A variety of blockbuster hits are shown on campus and in the UV throughout the academic year.
Games nights are organized so residents can have fun and interact with other students residing in the residence halls.
Ice Cream Socials
Ice Cream Socials are incorporated throughout the year to offer residents a chance to feel welcomed in their community.
Community Service Efforts
Various community service efforts are coordinated throughout the year to support the campus and local communities.
Held once each semester, this interactive open mic night features a live bands, good food and performance from the campus community.
Social dance night hosted in the UV for residents to enjoy music and entertainment in a fun and safe environment.
UV Thanksgiving Dinner
Every year, a Thanksgiving Dinner is sponsored to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with students from other cultures. Diversity activities are coordinated to enhance the dinner experience.
Pancake Study Break
Held the Monday before finals week, the annual pancake study break is designed to give students a much needed break during a stressful week.
