If you find a duplicate or unwanted assessment or grade item in your course, you will want to delete or hide to ensure the grades for students in your course are accurate.

  • Delete an assessment (individually and in bulk)
  • Delete grade items
  • Disassociate grade items (if student submissions are present)

There may be times when you want to award extra credit to students in Brightspace. This resource highlights how to accomplish this successfully.

Instructors may be asked by the Dean of Students or Bursar to identify the last date of attendance for a student who has withdrawn from a course.  This resource explains how to locate this information in your Brightspace course.

To ensure students can see your feedback and points associated with your rubric, be sure to click a value for each row/column and then also provide a point total to the students for each row/column. If you save the scoring as a draft, be sure to publish the feedback and score so that students can see their grade.

This website will also highlight best practices for grading using rubrics.

A “Similarity Report” will display for assignments using Turnitin. These resources can assist you in understanding the score displayed so that you can discuss with students and provide appropriate feedback.
