Purdue University is upgrading/changing the endpoint anti-virus/anti-malware software to Cisco’s AMP for Endpoints. This new software will replace two of the current security applications that PNW uses, McAfee and Malwarebytes. Cisco AMP will protect PNW devices (laptops, workstations, and servers) from viruses, worms, ransomware, malware, and more. It will help reduce risk and protect PNW data related to students, faculty, and staff.
The IS department will be installing the AMP software on your PNW owned device within the next few months. You will not have to do anything on your part. The new software will be deployed and the old removed through our desktop management tools.
To comply with security best practices, university policies, and to protect PNW data; your device will be scanned regularly and managed by Information Security Services.
