FAQs for Members

The gate will be in full use on Monday, December 4.

Each member will be given a new card with a printed QR code. Members will pull up to the payment kiosk and scan their new membership card for the gate to open. Once they pull through, the gate will close behind them. You can also save a photo of your QR code and scan your phone at the kiosk.

The kiosk has an intercom in which you can call a Gabis employee to verify your membership information and they can open the gate remotely. However, the intercom will only be staffed during normal business hours (Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.). So, please be diligent in keeping track of your membership card.

We will try our best to staff the gatehouse and provide a smooth transition with the new gate. However, this is an attempt to save the arboretum funds and invest them back into the property.

The best way is to renew online or click the button below.

FAQs for Non-Members

The gate will be in full use on Monday, December 4.

Guests will pull up to the payment kiosk, insert their credit card to pay the $10 carload fee, and the gate will open allowing entry.

The kiosk has an intercom in which you can call a Gabis employee to make them aware. They can open the gate remotely and direct you where to pay. However, the intercom will only be staffed during normal business hours (Monday through Saturday – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).\

If visiting outside of those hours and you only have cash, you will unfortunately be unable to visit the arboretum.

Upon registering for your event or program, you will be emailed a QR code to scan at the gate. Entry for weddings, concerts, and other large events will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

For Purdue students (including Northwest, Fort Wayne, Global, and West Lafayette) and reciprocal memberships, they would press the intercom button on the kiosk and be prepared to provide their PUID or membership number to the Gabis employee that answers the intercom. They can open the gate remotely.

However, the intercom will only be staffed during normal business hours (Monday through Saturday – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Cash is not accepted at the kiosk or gatehouse.

If a Purdue student, a guest with a reciprocal membership, or any guests that only have cash is visiting outside of those hours, they will, unfortunately, be unable to visit the arboretum.
