Minor in Philosophy

Philosophy deals with the most fundamental questions a person can confront—questions about the nature of reality, knowledge, and truth; about values and ethics; and about the meaning of life. As for its practical value, philosophy, perhaps more than any other academic discipline, helps a person to develop the critical thinking skills that lead to success in almost any career. Little wonder, then, that philosophy students consistently outperform all others on standardized tests, such as the GRE and the LCAT; enjoy great success in being admitted to law schools, graduate schools, and even medical schools; and, contrary to the stereotype, also do quite well in terms of employment and career earnings.
