Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony
Sunday, December 15, 2019, at 2:00 P.M.
Location: Westville Campus, Westville, IN James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex (DSAC) H.D. Kesling Gymnasium
Additional Information for Graduates & Their Supporters
The ceremony lasts approximately 90 minutes. Participants will not be permitted to leave the gymnasium until the ceremony is concluded. Please note the ceremony will be streamed “live” on the PNW website, and we will also have it streamed in the Library-Student-Faculty Building (LSF) Room 002, for those guests who were not able to obtain a ticket.
Candidates Needing Special Assistance
In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), any candidate who might require special accommodations in order to participate in the commencement ceremony should call the Graduation Coordinator, at (219) 989-2334 or email firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, November 22, 2019 to make appropriate arrangements.
Guests Needing Special Assistance
There will be limited mobility seating in the venue for guests that require special accommodations. On the day of the commencement ceremony please see any staff member in a gold robe for assistance. All specially seated guests must have an admission ticket, supplied by the candidate, to enter the Dworkin Center.
You must arrive at Tech 109A wearing your cap and gown. Please leave all personal belongings (such as coats, purses or bags) with your guests during the ceremony.
All guests including children (infants and toddlers) must have a ticket in order to attend the commencement ceremony. Please inform your guests that strollers and infant carriers are not permitted in the Commencement venue. Seating space is limited and aisles are narrow; over half of guest seating is in bleachers.
Honor cords will be presented to those participants who qualify for graduation “With Distinction” or “With Highest Distinction” upon check-in. Please note that only those receiving an undergraduate degree are eligible to graduate with honors.
Keep the diploma cover that is given to you during the commencement exercises. Once you receive your diploma from the Office of the Registrar, you may insert it into the diploma cover.
Following commencement, please meet your family and friends in a predetermined location to help minimize congestion. There are excellent photo opportunities at the Graduation Celebration. Thank you!
Graduates and guests are invited to attend the Graduation Celebration. Refreshments and photo opportunities with PNW backdrops are provided. This event, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Affairs, is held after the ceremony in the Great Hall in the same building as the commencement.
Sunday, December 15, 2:00 P.M. Ceremony
This ceremony will be for Undergraduate and Graduate candidates in all PNW colleges.
The seating area will be open to guests at 1:00 P.M. on December 15. Guests should enter the Dworkin Center, and be in their seats no later than 1:30 P.M. in order to view the entire ceremony. Please inform your guests that strollers and infant carriers are not permitted in the Commencement venue.
All guests including children (infants and toddlers) must have a ticket in order to attend the commencement ceremony.
- Report to Tech 109A between 12:30 and 1:30 P.M.
- Please park in any campus parking lot.
- Check in at Tech 109A to receive a card showing your name. Make sure your name appears as you would like it announced; make any necessary changes clearly.
Grad Images will take your cap and gown photo between 12:30 and 1:30 P.M. They will also take one on-stage photo receiving your diploma. You are not obligated to purchase.
