As the face of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough greets early morning audiences with his outspoken political commentary. Pulling from his experience in Republican politics, Scarborough leads candid discussions about the important issues facing America each day. As popular on stage as he is on TV, he brings the same energy to his speeches as he does his morning show. With his off-the-cuff commentary, he offers a dynamic and fast-paced perspective on the current political and media landscape and the headlines of the day.
Scarborough has been named to the prestigious “TIME 100” list of the world’s most influential people. He and his television co-host Mika Brzezinski have been named to “Vanity Fair’s” list of top power players in the media. “Vanity Fair” called Scarborough the most influential Republican in America in the 2016 election cycle.
Scarborough is the two-time New York Times best-selling author of “The Right Path: From Ike to Reagan,” How Republicans Once Mastered Politics – and Can Again,” “Rome Wasn’t Burnt in a Day,” and “The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise.” He also writes a column on politics for “The Washington Post” and founded the “Florida Sun,” an award-winning weekly newspaper and served as editor and publisher.
Scarborough served as a member of Congress from 1994 to 2001. While in office, he was a member of the Judiciary, Armed Services, Government Reform and Oversight and the Education committees. He was part of a small group of young Republican congressmen called the “New Federalists” who were said to possess a surprising amount of power given their youth and lack of years in Congress by the National Journal.
He graduated from the University of Alabama and from the University of Florida School of Law.
