Hello! My name is Jacob Price and I am currently a Senior at PNW. I am pursuing a major in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Needs. A fun fact about me is that I am allergic to sand (YES! SAND!). With that being said I have never been to a beach or anywhere that is covered with it. Some of my hobbies include playing video games and watching mystery/crime films. The course that I am an SI Leader for is MA 13700, which is Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers I. This will be my second time being an SI Leader for this course and my third time being an SI Leader altogether. For this semester, my SI sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:00pm. From my perspective, SI is valuable because it takes topics discussed in lecture and reinforces them by applying it to various activities. During sessions, groups of students are encouraged to interact with the material more intensively and work together to sort out any misconceptions to develop a deeper understanding. While cooperating in this type of low risk environment it helps peers build relationships with each other and create a healthy learning environment beyond the classroom.
