This organization’s purpose is to provide and promote a better understanding of the functions and values of Human Resource Management. The group informs students of current developments in the field and endeavors to develop a nucleus of truly professional human resource managers. Emphasis is on developing the individual abilities of its members and promoting fellowship and the free exchange of ideas.

Description of our Organization

Purdue University Northwest, Hammond Campus SHRM Student Chapter #5221 is a student organization chartered by and affiliated with the National Society for Human Resource Management and works closely with the NWI SHRM Chapter. As a student organization on campus, we seek to enrich the experience of students interested in the human resources (HR) field. In furtherance of that goal, we offer unique activities for our members, such as: Provide leadership & professional development; Expose members to seasoned professionals in the HR field; Provide practical HR career knowledge; and, Job/Internship leads.
