DESCRIPTION:If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or intimidated by strength training\, you’re not alone. That’s exactly why we’re hosting our Women & Strength Training Workshop—a supportive\, judgment-free space designed to help women feel strong\, confident and empowered both in the gym and in everyday life. \nWhether you’re just starting your fitness journey or returning after time away\, this workshop is for you. \nWe’ll explore why strength training is important for women at every stage of life and how training may look different depending on factors such as age\, pregnancy\, or the post-partum period. You’ll also learn what an effective training program actually looks like and how to build one that fits your lifestyle. \nThis interactive workshop will cover: \n\nHow to structure your own workouts\, including warm-ups\, sets\, reps and rest intervals\nBeginner-friendly strength training exercises\nStrategies to overcome fear or uncertainty in the weight room\nHow to build a routine that works for you and your body’s rhythm\nCommon misconceptions about women and strength training\nA live Q&A session to answer your specific questions\n\nThe workshop will be led by Jason Chrapek\, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Purdue University Department of Health and Kinesiology and Director of the A.H. Ismail Center for Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine at West Lafayette. \nOur goal is simple: to create a supportive\, welcoming environment where women can learn\, ask questions\, and leave feeling empowered to strength train with confidence. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this informative and encouraging experience! \n
