The VA offers educational benefits through numerous GI Bill programs:
Currently available at the Hammond campus only
To qualify for this benefit, the service member must have a service-connected disability.
This program is for dependents or spouses of veterans who have died or are totally and permanently disabled as the result of a service connected disability or died while evaluated as having a total and permanent disability, or dependents or spouse of a person who is listed as a POW or MIA.

To apply for these state benefits you must complete your FAFSA then you may go to the scholar track website and create a user login before completing the application. NGSG application typically opens 60 days before the semester start date with the exclusion of the summer term.

Tuition Assistance (TA) is offered for individuals who are still serving. Start with your unit’s education office to determine your eligibility based on your branch of service and to ensure you take the proper steps needed to apply.
- Complete the appropriate application per your unit’s military branch/education office instructions:
- Army, Army Reserves and Army National Guard applicants visit Go Army Ed.
- All others please communicate with your unit’s education office.
- When your TA is approved, please contact the Bursar’s Office at your campus to complete the process.
