HAMMOND, Ind. – The Purdue University Northwest Athletics Department unveiled its 2022 Hall of Fame Class that includes three former student-athletes: Brooklyn Short (Women's Basketball), Cassidy Deno (Women's Basketball) and Patrick Mudd (Men's Golf). The three former PNW standouts will be inducted on Saturday, February 19, during an honorary brunch, and recognized during the home basketball doubleheader against Ferris State later that day.

"On behalf of the Pride of PNW, I would like to congratulate Brooklyn, Cassidy and Patrick on being inducted into the Hall of Fame," said Director of Athletics Rick Costello. "Each one of these individuals were tremendous students and they are great ambassadors for PNW. Through their dedication and successes, this group helped build the foundation of PNW Pride Athletics."

Brooklyn Short '14 (Women's Basketball)

Short was the floor general for some of the best teams in the women's basketball team's history. She earned 2013-14 NAIA Honorable Mention All-America, leading her squad to a 25-7 record during a historic campaign that featured a conference regular season title, conference tournament title and the first national tournament victory in school history. During her final season in Hammond, Short averaged 12.4 points and 4.1 assists and became the 18th member of the program's 1,000-Point Club. A three-time all-conference selection, she finished her career among the team's all-time leaders in assists, three-point field goals and steals. The Wabash, Ind. native was also named to the Daktronics-NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete list and the conference All-Academic Team for her outstanding classroom achievements.

Cassidy Deno '17 (Women's Basketball)

Deno left her mark at PNW as one of the top all-around student-athletes in school history. Named the 2016-17 CoSIDA College Division Academic All-American of the Year, Deno was twice named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, while also earning NAIA All-American status twice for her success on the court. She became just the second player in school history to eclipse 2,000 points and closed her career ranked second on the team's all-time scoring list with 2,228 points. As a senior, Deno averaged 20.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists, to help the Pride qualify for their fourth NAIA National Tournament in five years. The Otterbein, Ind. native was named an all-conference performer all four years during her playing career including a first-team selection in her junior and senior seasons. She was voted the 2013-14 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year after leading the program to a regular season conference title, conference tournament championship and the first national tournament victory in school history.

Patrick Mudd '17 (Men's Golf)

Mudd wrapped up his career as the first men's golfer in school history to earn All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors after a sixth-place finish at the conference championship event. After a stellar senior season in both the classroom and the golf course, the Crown Point, Ind. native was named a CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American in the men's at-large College Division. As a senior, Mudd led the Pride with a 75.7 season average, snagged a team-best six Top 10 finishes in 2016-17 and won one event. His name is all over the PNW men's golf record books, as he ended his career with the second-best 18-hole score (70) in program history. Mudd also served as president of the Political Science Honors Society, was vice president of the History Honors Society, was a member of the Honors College and was a Model United Nations Representative for PNW.

PNW Athletics is proud to honor these outstanding individuals. Tickets are required to attend the Hall of Fame Brunch/Induction Ceremony and tickets include complimentary access to the PNW basketball games against Ferris State.
