#11 DI Hockey advances to Sweet 16 of ACHA DI Tournament in dominating win over #22 IUP

The #11 Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey earn the programs first-ever ACHA DI National Tournament victory in dominating fashion to advance to the Sweet 16. The Pride defeated #22 Indiana Pennsylvania 11-3.

Inside The Numbers
  • Sophomore Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) led the Pride with two goals and four assists.
  • Sophomore Andrew Remer (Lake Orion, Mich./) netted a hat-trick and added two assists for Purdue Northwest.
  • Junior Sam Bourdages (Hearst, Ontario/) and sophomore Carter Hobbs (Des Moines, Iowa/) each added one goal and three assists during the game.
  • Sophomore Hayden Masloski (Andover, Minn./) chipped in one goal and one assist.
  • Eight different Pride players scored during the contest.
  • Sophomore Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn./) played all 60 minutes between the pipes for the Pride and recorded 50 saves to earn the win. 
  • Maddox Rearic led IUP with one goal and two assists.
  • Jared Stahel played all 60 minutes in the net for the Crimson Hawks making 60 total saves.
The Breakdown
  • The Pride started the game strong scoring three goals in the first nine minutes of the game to grab a 3-0 lead.
  • IUP netted a goal in the last minute of the first period to make the score 3-1 heading into first intermission.
  • Bourdages scored the lone goal in the second period and gave Purdue Northwest the 4-1 advantage going into the third.
  • The third period saw a barrage of goals with the Pride adding seven goals while the Crimson Hawks grabbed two of their own but saw Purdue Northwest take the big win to kick-off their ACHA Tournament run, 11-3.
  • Purdue Northwest went a near perfect 8-of-9 in power plays and also netted a short-handed goal.
