The #11 Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey advances to the Elite Eight of the ACHA National Tournament after upsetting and fighting off #6 Maryville on Saturday afternoon, 3-2.

The Basics
  • Records: #11 Purdue Northwest (30-6), #6 Maryville (23-9-1)

Inside The Numbers
  • Sophomore Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) led the Pride with one goal and one assist.
  • Junior Noah Murphy (Faribault, Minn./) and sophomore Carter Hobbs (Des Moines, Iowa/) each netted a goal.
  • Sophomore Andrew Remer (Lake Orion, Mich./) chipped in two assists during the game.
  • Sophomore Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn./) played all 60 minutes between the pipes for the Pride and had another herculian effort in goal recording 39 saves for the big win.
  • Jackson Sloty and Timon Prexler led Maryville with one goal each.
  • Lucas Bain played all 60 minutes in the net for the Saints making 24 total saves.
The Breakdown
  • The Pride scored first in the first period of play after another power play from Hobbs to take a 1-0 lead into the second.
  • Purdue Northwest added two more goals to make 3-0 in the second but late in the period Maryville grabbed their first goal to make 3-1.
  • The Saints scored a goal to cut their deficit to 3-2 in the third period with over seven minutes left.
  • Maryville thought they had tied it up 3-3 after a late goal but the score was waved off after a goalie interference call to still give the Pride a 3-2 advantage.
  • After several great saves and defensive stops in the third Purdue Northwest held on for the big win, 3-2.
