An Introduction to Bonsai: The Art of the Potted Tree

Discover the fascinating art of bonsai in this beginner-friendly educational talk!
Learn what makes a tree a bonsai, the history and principles behind this living art form and the essential techniques for keeping bonsai healthy and thriving. We’ll explore proper bonsai care, including watering, pruning and maintenance, as well as the basics of bonsai design.
The presenter, Jon Duran is owner of Duran Bonsai and Chairman of the Northwest Indiana Bonsai Society. He’s a bonsai artist and chemical engineer.

This program is free. Non-members must pay an arboretum admission fee of $10 per carload for entry.
