Purdue University Northwest Gabis Arboretum Events

Earth Art (Ages 10+)
July 31, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Create Earth Art and leave it in nature for everyone to see!
We will look at a few examples of earthworks by well-known artists (Andy Goldsworthy, Robert Smithson, Nancy Holt and Christo and Jeanne Claude). We will then collect natural materials from the surrounding area (leaves, twigs, grasses, etc.) and create our own “earth art,” which we will leave in nature for others to see.
Don’t forget to take a photo before it dissolves back into nature.
Meet in the depot.
This program is free. Non-members must pay an arboretum admission fee of $10 per carload for entry.
