Sunset Classical Concert with the Michiana Brass Quintet

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to experience a peaceful sunset classical concert at the Gabis Arboretum.
The Michiana Brass Quintet will provide a variety of music, from Bach to Gershwin; ragtime, showtunes, folk songs, as well as traditional brass quintet literature. This group of performer/educators, heavily influenced by the legendary Canadian Brass, aims to provide music for all to enjoy!
Performance runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Food and beverage vendors will be available.

- Guest artists include soprano Anne Marie Bice of Valparaiso University and percussionist Jefferey Brown of Valparaiso University.
About the Band
The Michiana Brass Quintet is a professional brass ensemble specializing in innovative performance and teaching programs. This group is made up of performer/educators from all over the Northern Indiana and Lower Michigan region, and they strive to engage the audience by combining music, education, and fun. All the members are good friends and active performers in many different ensembles across the Michiana region.
As a group, they have performed extensively throughout the Midwest. Among the places the group has performed include Andrews University, Valparaiso University, Southwestern Michigan College, Trine University, and Hill Auditorium at the University of Michigan. Recent performances have included masterclasses for the Adventist Band Festival of Andrews University, the Lakeshore High School Band in Stevensville, Michigan, and several performances introducing guests at the Sinai Forum at Purdue University Northwest.
The group has participated in fundraising events such as CASA of Michigan and the Heroin Awareness Project of La Porte, and the Culver Community “Gift of Warmth”. They have been frequent guest artists at the Box Factory for the Arts in St. Joseph, Michigan, the Dogwood Festival of Dowagiac , and the Wellfield Botanical Gardens in Elkhart. Since 2019 they have been the featured brass quintet for the LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra.
