Trail and Garden Maintenance
Weekly sessions from 9:30 a.m. to Noon to keep our gardens thriving:
- Tuesdays: Railway Garden
- Wednesdays: Meyer Pavilion
- Thursdays: Rose Garden
- Fridays: Adventure Garden & Native Plant Garden
Join our naturalist on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to remove invasive species and restore balance to our ecosystems. This hands-on conservation effort directly protects native plants and wildlife.
Ensure our trails remain safe and enjoyable for all visitors by monitoring paths, reporting maintenance needs and keeping the trails clear of debris.
On the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., all volunteers come together to restore native habitats, weed gardens, mulch trails and assist with event setup.
Tasks change monthly based on the arboretum’s needs.
Citizen Science
Support citizen science by monitoring bluebird boxes on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers collect data that supports bird conservation and helps track local populations.
Guides and Tours
Support our most beloved attraction at the arboretum—the Railway Garden!
From May to October, ensure smooth model train operations and create a welcoming experience for visitors.
Help inspire curiosity by assisting with guided hikes and field studies.
Volunteers support educational programming that connects students and adults alike to the wonders of nature.
Become a tour guide!
On Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers lead educational golf cart tours, sharing the arboretum’s beauty and history with visitors.
Special Events
Support weddings and other venue rentals by welcoming guests at the kiosk and providing golf cart transportation from parking areas to event spaces.
As concert season approaches, volunteers play a vital role in operations—covering ticket tables, distributing wristbands, staffing information booths and more.
Be part of the energy that makes these community events successful!
