Branching Out: An Outdoor STEM Camp
Session One: June 1 to 5
Session Two: June 8 to 12
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at Gabis Arboretum! Campers will explore wetlands, prairies and woodlands as they investigate nature’s STEM wonders.
Grades 2 to 6 can experience summer fun outdoors, with immersive learning, hands-on experiments, exploration of wildlife and habitats and more!
Camp Details
- Cost: $220 per session
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily
- This session is for students entering grades 2 to 6.
- Campers should bring their lunch and wear comfortable shoes, bug spray, sunscreen and clothing appropriate for being outdoors.
Roots and Wonders Forest School
Roots and Wonders Forest School is a four-day, parent/guardian-accompanied, outdoor learning experience at Gabis Arboretum for children ages 3-5.
Meeting daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (July 27-30), children explore nature through play-based STEM, literacy and art.
Activities include storytelling, counting and patterning, nature walks, building, painting and hands-on discovery.
Children should dress for outdoor play and exploration.

What can we find in a pond? (Ages 7 to 10)Join us in using a muck net to scoop water from a pond and investigate what you find using a sieve, hand lens and nature viewers.

Drawing in the Prairie (Ages 12+)Participants will walk through the prairie, taking photographs, observing and learning about plant life in the prairie.
