The Purdue University Northwest Gabis Arboretum serves as a living laboratory for education, research, conservation and engagement with the natural environment.
Model Train Hours
The model trains at the Railway Garden run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May through October, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weather permitting).

Events throughout October
Kick off the season with fall fun at Gabis Arboretum’s first-ever Oaktober Fest with live music by Santeria: A Tribute to Sublime! The next day, enjoy Family Day with a magician, games and live animals. Also, don’t miss the Trail of Scarecrows and, for the brave, the Haunted Hike the following week!
Wine on the Rails

Experience the magic of our Railway Garden as you embark on a progressive wine tasting journey, in collaboration with PNW’s very own professor of wine, Matthew Bauman. Stroll through our meticulously crafted miniature landscapes, each stop offering a new wine to savor and a story to discover.
