Ariba Guided Buying Coming Dec. 8

Good morning Ariba Users,
As shared in Business @ Purdue, The Ariba Guided Buying project is nearly complete, and users will see an updated presence when accessing Ariba starting on Monday (Dec. 8).
Benefits and Features
Ariba Guided Buying is simplified, streamlined and user-friendly, making it faster to buy goods and request services and easier to find information.
Features include enhanced product and supplier search capabilities, product recommendations, quick reordering of products and centralization of Purdue’s approved vendors and service providers. Additionally, individuals without Ariba roles will be able to view catalogs and pricing in the system to facilitate planning efforts and transparency.
Training
To support users in learning the new system, Ariba Guided Buying training is required for requisitioners, fiscal approvers and invoice reconcilers. With the exception of requisitioners who have numerous training options this month and some in January, limited training sessions for fiscal approvers and invoice reconcilers remain. Individuals with any of these roles should plan to register for and attend a training session using the links below.
- Requisitioner training sessions
- Fiscal approver training sessions
- Invoice reconciler training sessions
To view all training dates, click “View Available Classes” at the bottom right of the courses that display automatically. Most, if not all, users at Purdue Northwest are attending virtual trainings. Please ensure the training registered for is a virtual training (not in-person which is held at the West Lafayette campus.)
Receivers do not need to complete formal training. A new quick reference guide is included on the Procurement Services Guided Buying webpage for these individuals.
Resources and Access
Several resources are available on the Guided Buying webpage now to help users get acquainted with the system, including a miniseries of videos. The newest video shares a brief overview of finding and selecting commodity categories. Quick reference guides and other resources will be added to this webpage soon.
Ariba Guided Buying will still be accessible through the OneCampus portal, and users may need to clear their browser cache and cookies to experience the new interface when logging in for the first time once the system is live. Any broken links, missing information or other issues that are found in Ariba Guided Buying should be reported to Procurement Services.
West Lafayette Procurement Services Website Changes
For consistency in how information is presented, catalogs on the West Lafayette Procurement Services website will be updated to match the Ariba Guided Buying categories. Bookmarks or saved links will need to be updated, and new locations can be accessed through the Guided Buying webpage in the coming days.
Questions about Ariba Guided Buying may be directed to pstraining@purdue.edu.
