Dear PNW Faculty and Staff:

As referenced in the message that Purdue Provost Wolfe sent out earlier today, April 21, the Department of Justice extended the ADA Title II compliance deadline until April 2027. A copy of his message can be found below.

Additionally, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation to the PNW Cross Functional Taskforce on Digital Accessibility for their great strides toward improving digital accessibility at the University. Throughout the Spring 2026 semester, the taskforce has actively been working on accomplishing the team’s goals. Specifically, this team has made resources available on the Accessibility at PNW webpage.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Taskforce Co-Chairs, Tim Griffin and Heather Zamojski, for leading the efforts of this team and to each of the taskforce members for your outstanding effort and dedication demonstrated over the past semester. Your work is critical to aligning with the digital accessibility standards.

Provost Wolfe Update: Digital Accessibility Updates

Dear faculty and staff colleagues,

As we approach the invariably busy end of a very successful and productive year, I know just how hard all of you have been working to bring our materials into compliance with the ADA Title II requirements.

We are writing with the news that the U.S. Department of Justice has granted a one-year extension to public entities like Purdue until April 2027. This allows us to approach the necessary tasks more thoughtfully, with a clear focus on meaningful access for people with disabilities.

With your help, we have already made a strong start. We will continue to support the work necessary to bring Purdue into full compliance and to embed accessibility into our practices. We appreciate the work of each of you toward meeting our ADA mandate by ensuring that institutional web templates and systems — including PDFs, web content, videos, apps, portals and other digital materials — are accessible to all users.

Links to available resources are below. Through deans and heads, I will be in further touch to ensure that this work continues seamlessly and that we support you fully in these efforts.

With best wishes as we approach graduation,

Patrick Wolfe
