Dear Colleagues,

For those of you who spent time away from campus this summer, welcome back. I look forward to working with you this academic year.

As you may have heard, Indiana’s House Enrolled Act 1001-2025 includes a number of provisions related to higher education that went into effect as state law on July 1, 2025. One such provision states: “A faculty member shall prepare and post on the institution’s website a syllabus for each course the faculty member is teaching.” We are defining “faculty” to include all instructional staff to avoid possible confusion with the public.

To remain compliant with this new law, PNW must provide a mechanism for all faculty to post the syllabus for each of their courses to the website. We have developed a workable process to meet the legislative mandate while trying to minimize the additional work on your part to the extent possible. I wanted to give you advance notice that in the next day or two, you will receive separate emails with instructions on how to upload your syllabi and how to reach out with questions. We appreciate your assistance in meeting the legislative mandate by September 2, 2025.

On a different note, Chancellor Holford and I look forward to seeing you at Friday’s Year Ahead event.

Sincerely,

Marie Mora
