Ongoing Purdue IT Networking Project

Good morning!
You may have noticed our Purdue IT Networking team popping in and out of buildings over the past several months. This is part of a large and complex project tasked with tracing and labeling the thousands of networking jacks found throughout the many different buildings and campuses of Purdue Northwest.
In an attempt to lessen any confusion (and concern!) over who these folks are, they have now been asked to clearly identify themselves when entering an office area (Note: these are all Purdue employees, contractors are not being used for this project) and explain what they are doing, why and where.
If you ever have any concerns, you are more than welcome to ask them to pause their work, and you can reach out to the PNW CSC to verify. (If you ever feel unsafe, of course, please notify the PNW Police Department.)
We fully understand that having strangers coming in and out of offices can be disconcerting and want to do everything we can to make sure that we identify ourselves. Going forward, we will also be attempting to directly contact any office occupants that may be impacted in the coming weeks/months to make sure they know what will be done and provide as close to an accurate timeframe for the visit as possible.
We appreciate your understanding and assistance as we attempt to make the Purdue Northwest network more resilient!
Thank you,
