Introduction

I elevate critical pedagogies to teach a variety of Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling courses in the School of Education and Counseling.

Research Overview

My primary research agenda examines the bidirectional relationship between chronic illness and mental health and the role of counselors in addressing these interconnected concerns. My aims focus on (a) social determinants of health, including racism and discrimination; (b) interdisciplinary collaboration; and (c) strategies to reduce health disparities.

I take tremendous pride in being a counselor educator. It is truly a privilege to equip counselors with the social justice and multicultural skills needed to serve and empower diverse individuals and communities. Counseling is sacred work!

Previous Roles

Before joining PNW, I provided counseling to culturally diverse individuals across the lifespan in community, school-based, and private practice settings. I also bring teaching experience across K–12 and higher education in diverse geographic and cultural contexts.
