Irfan Ganie is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of the Adaptive Intelligence and Autonomous Systems (AIAS) Lab at PNW. He teaches learning control systems and robotics.

Research Overview

Irfan Ganie’s research focuses on adaptive and learning-based control, online reinforcement learning, neural networks and intelligent autonomous systems. His work develops safe, adaptive and energy-efficient control methods for nonlinear systems, including adaptive temporal learning, humanoid and multi-robot teams, human-robot collaboration and cooperative control.

I come from Kashmir, a region known for its beautiful mountains and landscapes, which inspired my love for travel and exploration. I enjoy traveling whenever I have the opportunity and discovering the natural beauty and unique character of new places.

Irfan Ganie’s teaching focuses on control systems, robotics, adaptive and optimal control and learning-based control. He emphasizes connecting fundamental control theory with artificial intelligence and modern approaches for intelligent and autonomous systems.

Previous Roles

Before joining Purdue University Northwest, Irfan Ganie was an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Wilkes University, PA, and a Research Associate at the University of Missouri, Rolla, working on projects supported by the Army Research Office.
