Syllabus Mandate HEA 1001: Uploading Your Syllabus
As many of you are aware, legislation passed in April, HEA 1001-2025 (IC 21-38-3.5) mandates that “A faculty member shall prepare and post on the institution’s website a syllabus for each course the faculty member is teaching.”
To meet this mandate and remain in compliance with state law, PNW has created a process to accomplish this for AY 2025-26. Each faculty member will receive an email like the one below—one email for each CRN (so they will get multiple emails).
It asks the faculty to cut-and-paste parts of their syllabi into a Qualtrics template and then upload it. Read below for detailed instructions and opportunities for support.
Sample Syllabus Submission Guidelines

As part of PNW’s efforts to comply with recent legislative and institutional requirements, all faculty are asked to complete and submit a PNW Condensed Syllabus Template for each course they are teaching this semester.

Primary Instructor: {Instructor Name}
Please note: You will receive a separate email for each course you are assigned to teach.
To complete this task:
- Download and complete the PNW Condensed Syllabus Template .
- Submit the completed syllabus by no later than September 2 using the link you receive via email.

Deadline
All syllabi must be submitted by September 2.
