Wireless Infrastructure Maintenance: Hammond Campus

October 8, 2026
Hallway view of the Powers Building

As part of the ongoing Purdue IT project to upgrade the campus Wi-Fi with newer wireless infrastructure on the Purdue Northwest Hammond campus, networking staff will be working in various buildings (see schedule below) throughout the next several weeks. Areas they plan on accessing include common spaces, classrooms, labs, conference rooms, as well as private offices that house network infrastructure.

Purdue IT staff members will identify themselves to occupants before entering any personal spaces. If the occupant is unavailable, they will identify themselves to others in the area (when possible) and will quickly enter and complete their work. Otherwise, the work will be rescheduled for a time when the occupant can be present.

Wireless connectivity in these areas may be less reliable during the maintenance period but should continue to function. If you have any questions,  please contact the CSC.

Planned Schedule

  • Donald S. Powers Computer Education Building (PWRS): Oct. 12 to 16
  • David Roberts Center for Innovation and Design (CIDET): Oct. 19 to 23
  • Commercialization & Manufacturing Excellence Center (CMEC): Nov. 2 to 6
  • Hospitality & Tourism Management Building (HTMB): Nov. 9 to 13
