November 7, 2023 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Join Samuel Zinaich, associate professor of Philosophy, as he discusses the views of the late Banks McDowell (1930-2001) who wrote extensively about the role of excuses in different ethical contexts.

What does McDowell mean by the term ‘excuse’? Zinaich reveals making excuses and judging bad behavior is a more difficult and elusive project than we might know!
