Announcement: Assistant Vice Chancellor for University Recruitment and K-12 Strategy

Julie Wiejak
Dear PNW Community,
I am pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Julie Wiejak to Assistant Vice Chancellor for University Recruitment and K–12 Strategy.
In this expanded role, Julie will provide strategic leadership for university-wide undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts while continuing to advance PNW’s K–12 partnerships and early engagement strategy.
This position is central to strengthening the full student pipeline, from early exposure and aspiration-building through undergraduate and graduate enrollment and successful transition to Purdue University Northwest.
Julie most recently served as Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, where her leadership has contributed to undergraduate enrollment growth and positioned PNW for steady momentum into the future. During her tenure, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions implemented more coordinated recruitment strategies, expanded outreach to prospective students and families, and strengthened partnerships with schools and community organizations across the region. These efforts improved the new student experience from inquiry through enrollment and reinforced PNW’s commitment to access, affordability, and student success.
Julie’s work has also emphasized meaningful engagement with parents, families, and community partners, recognizing their critical role in student decision-making and persistence. Under her leadership, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions increased collaboration with K–12 schools, counselors, and community-based organizations, helping families better understand college pathways, financial processes, and the opportunities available at PNW.
Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Marketing from Loyola University Chicago, master’s degrees in Business and Intercultural Communication from DePaul University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Northern Illinois University.
As Assistant Vice Chancellor, Julie will oversee undergraduate and graduate recruitment strategy, guide K–12 and community engagement initiatives, and work closely with academic and administrative partners to ensure recruitment efforts reflect PNW’s mission, academic strengths, and long-term enrollment goals.
Please join me in congratulating Julie on this well-deserved promotion. I look forward to the continued impact of her leadership as we continue to strengthen intentional pathways to PNW for students at every stage of their educational journey.
Warm regards,

Elizabeth Babcock Depew, Ed.D.
Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs
