    Cleveland-Cliffs Managers Have Successful Visit to CIVS

    Eight Managers from Cleveland Cliffs visited CIVS on June 11. The group, led by Stephen Palmer (Enterprise Director of Engineering), spent several hours to thoroughly review past and current projects conducted at CIVS & and Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC). The topics covered Blast Furnace, DRI, EAF, Ladle, Reheating Furnace, Casting, Safety including AI Hazard Recognition, Crane Training, and other VR & AR simulators.

    CIVS Director Participates in a Round Table Discussion at ARPA-E ROSIE Annual Meeting

    Dr. Chenn Zhou was invited to participate in a round table discussion on Process Design and Development at the annual DOE ARPAE ROSIE meeting in Washington, DC on June 9. Dr. Zhou made a presentation and answered questions on the use of advanced Multiphysics simulation, visualization, and AI as enabling technologies with multiple CIVS project examples.
