Commencement 2026: Important Campus Information for Saturday, May 9

We are proud to celebrate our Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 graduates this Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m.
With a record number of candidates participating, we anticipate approximately 8,000 attendees on campus. Please review the following information to help you plan accordingly.
Prior to Commencement
Several parking lots will be closed in advance for event setup. Please refer to prior campus emails for specific dates and times of closures.
We encourage the campus community to take advantage of designated photo locations:
- NILS: Lion statues (featuring mortarboards)
- SULB:
- West concourse outside Calumet Falls
- Across from the Welcome Center
- CLO: Mane Zone
If you capture photos, please consider sharing them at marketing@pnw.edu. If posting on social media, tag Purdue Northwest and use #PNWGrad.
Day of Commencement
Parking attendants, in coordination with University Police, will actively manage lots and direct traffic. Expect increased congestion across campus.
Faculty & Staff Parking Recommendation
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to park at the Kube and use the trolley service to Lawshe Hall. The trolley service starts running at 7:30 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. continuously.
Parking on or near the main campus will be extremely limited and prioritized for graduates and their guests.
Choosing the Kube lot will:
- Provide a more reliable and predictable arrival time
- Reduce time spent searching for limited parking near the venue
- Allow for easier departure after the ceremony, avoiding heavy post-event traffic congestion
- Faculty: Lawshe Hall (first floor)
- Platform Party & Event Team: Please follow the instructions previously provided to you
- Candidates: Student Union and Library Building
