About Paul Hanstedt

Paul Hanstedt is the founding director of the Center for Academic Resources and Pedagogical Excellence at Washington & Lee University. He is experienced in leading general education and pedagogical reform in both the U.S. and Asia and is the recipient of several teaching awards, including a 2013 State Council for Higher Education in Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award and the 2014 CASE-Carnegie Virginia Professor of the Year Award. He has authored several books, including General Education Essentials and Creating Wicked Students. His work appears regularly in Liberal Education, Faculty Focus and Inside Higher Ed.
