Fall Career Center Events and Important Information!

August 24, 2023

Good afternoon Faculty & Staff,

The Career Center hopes you had a great summer!

We are excited for the fall semester and wanted to share some information and updates with you all. We have several employers already registered for our career fairs. We would really appreciate it if you could post this information to your courses and help spread the word. Below are the larger events we need help promoting:

Pride Professional Development Night (PPDN)

This large-scale career development event allows students to meet with professionals and get feedback on their resume, participate in a mock interview, get a professional headshot, shop in our Career Closet, and attend an alumni panel presentation about key workplace issues. The event is being held on the third floor of SULB on Wed. September 6 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Students can click here to register.

STEM Industry Fair

This business-casual networking event is for students and alumni seeking full time employment and internships in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. While we are expecting many STEM majors, we also encourage other non-STEM majors to attend. This will take place on Wed. September 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the FRC. Students can register by clicking here.

Fall Career Expo

This career fair is for students and alumni seeking full full-time employment and internships across all industries and academic majors. We encourage all students, regardless of major to attend. The Career Center is collaborating with the College of Business to host this fair. It will be taking place on Wed. October 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the FRC. Students can click here to register.

There will also be a “ready-room” available to all students outside of both career fairs to help them prepare to speak with employers. We know many students are anxious about attending, so we wanted to create a space they could ask questions to our staff, prepare what they would like to talk about, and help build their confidence before going into the actual event.

We encourage you to attend as well. Students consistently say they feel supported when they see their professors/instructors and other staff attend these events.

We are also collecting resumes to have on hand to send to our employer partners. We get multiple requests each semester for student/ alumni resumes, so the more students that upload their resumes, the better chance we can connect them with opportunities! If you could also share this with your students, it would be greatly appreciated. Students can submit them here.

Lastly, we conduct many classroom presentations and assignments throughout the semester, so if you are interested in having us attend a class, or want to work with us in a more direct way, please submit your requests here. We are happy to help all students grow in their career and professional development.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office: TheCareerCenter@pnw.edu or contact any of our staff directly.

We look forward to working with you this semester!
