Currently, nearly 60% of PNW students are the first in their families to go to college.  Many of these students work one to two jobs aside from their full-time endeavor, pursing their degrees at PNW.

Dr. Tobin’s focus on experiential learning has given her students opportunities to present at conferences, study abroad or visit Chicago, and network for internship opportunities. By expanding their worlds and their minds, Dr. Tobin has empowered generations of students who have gone on to be community leaders, attorneys, corporate executives and teachers themselves.

About Your Contribution

Your contribution will be commingled with the funds of other donors as we work to fully fund an endowment to support the experiential learning opportunities for designated students at Purdue Northwest.

An endowment requires a minimum of $25,000.00 in contributions within five years. Once the minimum is reached, the revenue will be used to support the Dr. Kathy Tobin Endowed Experiential Learning in Humanities and Social Sciences Fund to provide experiential learning support for students pursuing a degree in a field of Humanities or Social Sciences, as determined by the Dean of the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences.

If this minimum is not reached within five years, then the amount in the fund will be spent outright until exhausted and the endowment fund will terminate. Additionally, if less than $10,000 is pledged or received within 6 months of the endowment’s establishment, all funds and future funds will be distributed to support experiential learning as detailed above until exhausted, and the endowment will not come to fruition.
