Gratitude for your Resilience

Dear Purdue University Northwest Community,

I hope everyone is continuing to remain safe while our local communities recover from the recent severe weather events. We are aware that a large portion of our service area is still without power, cellular service or internet connectivity.

I want to reiterate my sincere thanks to all who are navigating individual and shared challenges as we prepare for the fall 2026 semester. Your commitment to providing as smooth of a start as possible for our students under difficult circumstances is deeply appreciated.

Currently, the PNW Hammond campus is open with normal operations, and students will begin moving in over the next several days. The PNW Westville campus remains without power. We continue to monitor and assess conditions to ensure facilities will be safe and fully operational before we welcome faculty, staff, and students back to that location. We will share an update Friday afternoon with more details.

Please visit pnw.edu/alerts to stay updated on campus operations as recovery continues.

Thank you, again, for all that you are doing to keep our community strong.

Sincerely,

PNW Chancellor Kenneth C. Holford
