In alignment with our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan: Excellence Evolving and ongoing retention efforts, we are excited to announce the launch of the PNW Student Success Hub and Network.

As Chancellor Holford and I have been discussing, including during last month’s Year Ahead meeting and the August 22 Faculty Senate meeting, this Network is being developed to provide comprehensive, student-centered support across academic and campus services.

At the core of the network will be the Student Success Hub, which will offer success coaching, peer mentoring and accountability groups focused on goal setting, regular check-ins and mutual support. The broader Network will integrate support units within Academic Affairs and across the university to essentially operate as a one-stop-shop and create a holistic and highly visible system of care for our undergraduate students.

The full Network will be activated in phases, beginning with the launch of the Student Success Hub in mid- to late October. Leading this effort is Catrina Terrell, the new Assistant Director of Student Coaching and Mentoring, who will oversee daily operations, coordinate with campus partners, and implement programming.

Success coaching and peer mentoring have already proven effective with the readmit-on-notice student population under Catrina’s leadership in the Office of Academic Planning and Recovery. The Hub will expand these services to all undergraduate students, taking a proactive approach to fostering academic achievement and overall student success.

The second and third phases (Spring 2026 and Academic Year 2026-27) will involve expanding the Network and formalizing participation agreements with other key student-support centers within and outside Academic Affairs, such as Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, the Career Center, Counseling Services, and other areas. A website is also currently under development that will provide more details.

We look forward to sharing additional information as the phases unfold and the various student-support units are integrated into the Network.

Sincerely,

Marie Mora
